A threesome from New Jersey with backgrounds in teaching and photography, are the owner-hosts at The Cypress bed and breakfast inn in Sarasota, Florida.

Nina has a master’s degree in anthropology/women’s studies. Her love of cultural anthropology is evident in the variety of artifacts found throughout the inn. Guests will find Nina’s unique collections of antiques and art objects tastefully displayed. In the tradition of oral history, if you ask her, Nina will be glad to tell you about each and every one.

Evident at initial contact is Vicki’s warmth of personality. Her energy and enthusiasm are intoxicating. After years of experience in the field of education, Vicki’s sincere interest in the needs of others is exhibited by the attention they receive at The Cypress. Guests are infatuated by the end of their stay.

Robert is a gifted artist and photographer whose work graces most of The Cypress’ bed and breakfast rooms. He was a commercial photographer in New York City for 25 years, where he created artwork for numerous national ad campaigns, including American Express, Kodak and Continental Airlines, as well as movie posters for 20th Century Fox and Universal Studios. Robert is the recipient of numerous awards for his art photography.

Nelson, the inn’s cat, can usually be spotted amid the lush foliage keeping watch over his personal patch of catnip at one end of the garden.
