Breakfast

Morning begins with a breakfast consisting of juice, daily-baked muffins, a fruit assortment, and a gourmet entree – all served in the café overlooking the majestic, sail-clad Sarasota Bay on the Florida west coast. After breakfast, the front porch offers an inviting setting. Glance through the morning paper, delve into that neglected novel, or just relax and enjoy the view of the Gulf of Mexico.

Self-taught gourmet cooks Robert, Vicki and Nina are the chefs at The Cypress. Sharing responsibility in the inn’s kitchen, many of their unusual dishes are inspired by the herb garden and tropical fruit trees at The Cypress. Fresh mango-pecan muffins are an example. The mangos are harvested from the 12 trees on the property. The gardens are filled with tropical specimens, perennials used as garnish for the menu items and bouquets in the bed and breakfast.

Breakfast is served from 9:00-10:00 am. Please inform the innkeepers of any dietary restrictions when making your reservation. “Breakfast to go” can be arranged for an early departure. The inn’s recipes are available upon request while The Cypress Cookbook is in the making!
